WHAT IS A DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL?

Dragon Boat Festivals are a dynamic racing experience put on by Mitchell's Place, a local Birmingham nonprofit. Whether you’re paddling in the 46-foot long authentic Hong Kong boat or watching from the banks, it’s definitely the ride of a lifetime. Corporate and community teams race for the title of champion out at East Lake Park. With heart pounding action and fun for the whole family, it’s a summer event that can’t be missed.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

You can race with a team. You can volunteer to help during the event. You can come watch. You can sponsor the event. You can be a vendor the day of. It’s your choice, just let us know how we can make it happen!

 

ARE CHILDREN AND PETS WELCOME?

Yes! They are encouraged. There is a kid’s area full of activities and fun and lots of land for your furry ones to explore. (Just make sure they’re on a leash).

 

WHAT IS THERE TO DO IF YOU AREN'T COMPETING?

Honestly? There’s so much to do your head might spin. Between the merchant's market, paddler village, and the park; there’s something for everyone in the crew to enjoy.

WHAT WILL THE FUNDS BE USED FOR?

All proceeds raised at this event will directly benefit the children, families and facility at Mitchell’s Place. Providing services for those affected by Autism is costly, so the proceeds will allow Mitchell's Place to offer services and programs that help children unlock their full potential.
